West Campus Construction 2010-12
District administrative offices have moved into their new home in the renovated West Campus building at 2020 Bonar Street at the corner of University Avenue. While the physical location has changed telephone numbers and email addresses remain the same.
The West Campus site is still undergoing the two remaining projects planned for this Berkeley Unified School District property.
West Campus Community Meeting Minutes from 10.18.11. and Project 2 GraphicNotes 10.18.11.

Project 3: West Campus High School Career Technical Education and Possible Charter School Program
The West Campus Career Technical Education and possible charter school project will create classrooms and support spaces for 400 students at West Campus. The school will use the existing gymnasium and several newly remodeled classrooms. They will also use the old administration building and the old shop building.
The Berkeley School Board approved a charter application for the REALM Charter School in 2010. School Districts are required to provide equivalent space for charter schools. The Berkeley School District and the REALM Charter School agreed that the middle school would be housed in commercial space and that the high school would be housed at West Campus. West Campus needs extensive renovation to safely house the school. The high school program will have no students at West Campus in 2011-12, as many as 100 students in the 2012-13 school year, as many as 300 students in the 2013-14 school year and reach its maximum capacity of 400 students in the 2014-15 school year. The District can accommodate the 100 students without extensive renovations, but must renovate additional buildings in order to house the 300 students for the 2013-2014 school year.
