All California public school districts are in the first year of implementing a three year plan (“LCAP”) that outlines goals, metrics, actions, and services and expenditures for all students, and those specific to meeting the needs of students from low income families, English Learners, and foster youth. In order to consult our school community in the development of the plan, last year the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) was formed.
Together with the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC), the role of the PAC is to consult, review, and comment on the district’s Local Control Accountability Plan.
The first PAC meeting of this school year is being held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 7:00 pm. The meeting agenda will include review of the key components of the Local Control & Accountability Plan (LCAP), and information on plan implementation to date. School representatives and interested community members and parents are encouraged to attend. The PAC operates as a Brown Act Committee, and includes time allocated on the agenda for public comment.
Agendas and materials for the PAC meeting will be posted here.
Meeting location: Berkeley Unified School District, 2020 Bonar St., Room 126
