Berkeley Technology Academy (BTA) teacher Margaret Agbowo-Onyewuenyi was awarded Outstanding Teacher by the CUE Awards Committee in February 2016. The CUE Outstanding Teacher award recognizes a classroom teacher who is making a noteworthy contribution to educational technology in a classroom setting, and at BTA Ms. Agbowo infuses her classroom with technology so students are exposed to industry-standard tools and “learn to learn” to keep up with trends. Using technology to support standards-based curriculum is a key factor in who is chosen for this award.
“I’m so honored to receive this award and thank twelve years of students for learning with me, colleagues and administrators for supporting my growth as an educator, funding organizations such as Willard Parent Teacher Association, Berkeley Public Schools Fund, Berkeley High School Development Group, Donors Choose and Chevron Fuel Your School for funding the ideas I imagine for students, and my family and friends for their love and support,” says Teacher Agbowo.
Congratulations, and thank you, Ms. Agbowo! Enjoy the spotlight at the CUE 2016 National Conference in Palm Springs!
