Starting January 1, 2016, a new state law (Senate Bill 277) states that parents/guardians of students in any school or child-care facility, whether public or private, will no longer be allowed to submit a personal beliefs exemption form for any currently required immunization.
Personal beliefs exemptions (PBEs) filed at a school or child-care facility before January 1, 2016 will remain valid until the student enrolls, typically at kindergarten (or transitional kindergarten) or 7th grade.
If your child is starting preschool, transitional kindergarten, kindergarten, or 7th grade, you are encouraged to take two important steps to avoid being excluded from school. Read more here, or contact the school nurse Rikki Moreno at 510-644-6960 or email@example.com by email.
