Please join us on Thursday, January 12 for an update from Superintendent Evans for a brief update on priorities and initiatives for the year, including progress on our Local Control and Accountability Plan, and then engage with parents, students, educators, staff, and district leaders for an evening of workshops and discussion on school leadership and how we can build a future for our schools together. This event is part of a series of workshops designed to build and support school and district committee leadership..
Thursday, January 12, Longfellow Middle School, 1500 Derby Street
The draft agenda for the evening is here. We’ll begin at 6:30 pm with a welcome and an update on district priorities and progress from Superintendent Donald Evans, and then there will be two 40 minute workshop sessions to choose from among four choices. Workshops topics include:
- Educational Facilities: Planning to Serve Student Needs
- School Needs Assessments: Focus on School Climate and Family Engagement
- Committee Roundtable: Inclusive, Effective, and Transparent Community LeadershipLCAP
- ELAC and PTA: Uniting Goals and Resources for an Effective School Plan
Any interested community member is welcome to attend the workshops. District and School committees such as School Governance Councils, the LCAP Parent Advisory Committee, the BSEP Planning and Oversight Committee, District and School English Learner Advisory Committee, and PTA’s are asked to send at least four delegates to this evening so each workshop has a representative from a site and/or committee.
