We wish to thank the many community members and BUSD employees who helped make Berkeley’s 5th annual College & Career Awareness Week another valuable experience for students last week. The series of events, concentrated over the three-day College and Career Summit on March 7 through March 9, offered multiple opportunities for BUSD students to learn more about potential college options and careers through guest speakers, panels, info fairs and special visits.
College and Career Awareness Week is part of the 2020 Vision for Berkeley’s Children & Youth, a citywide initiative launched in 2008 with the goal of providing equal opportunities for all children regardless of race, ethnicity or income, and eliminating the achievement gap in Berkeley schools by 2020. College and Career Awareness Week is organized by the BUSD and the City of Berkeley in collaboration with Berkeley City College, UC Berkeley and other community partners.
