A Resiliency Fair will be held at the Berkeley Adult School, 1701 San Pablo Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 2, featuring booths and presentations about emergency readiness, cooking, gardening and more.
Planned offerings include:
- Emergency preparedness information from the City of Berkeley and the Berkeley Disaster Preparedness Neighborhood Network
- 15-minute courses in Acupressure, Exercising your Memory, Portuguese, Feldenkrais, Cyber Security, Moving Qi, Tai Chi, Mindfulness and other topics
- Two courses by Octagon Consulting: Duct Tape First Aid and Pimp My Bug Out Bag
- Bilingual Health Fair
- Info tables by SameTeam.Us (Art for Progress) and CHIA (California Habitats Indigenous Activists)
- Sound healers Emile Janse and Jordan Blake providing a healing instrument petting zoo and healings via didgeridoo, flute and handspan
- Limited supplies of free BUSD Gardening and Cooking Program recipe books and seeds
- Food contest
- Noon reading of a poem by City of Berkeley Poet Laureate Rafael Jesus Gonzalez
- Cartooning on site by cartoonist and art teacher Damon Guthrie
