Illuminate Home Connect To Be Open for All BUSD Families
We want all families to have access to important information to help their students succeed. Our school district uses a web-based tool called Illuminate Home Connect. Our teachers and staff use this online tool to share information with your student and you about attendance, grades, and academic progress. We need to have accurate parent/guardian contact information so that you can access important information about your student.
We also need accurate contact information to reach parents and guardians in case of an emergency and providing us with your email through the parent account is a good step in increasing our outreach to families.
If you already have an Illuminate account set up using your current email address, then you are all set for now. This year, only parents at Berkeley High School will be invited to fill out the online school emergency card information in a parent/guardian Illuminate Home Connect account. The link to the emergency card information tool will post to one parent only.
If you do not yet have access to the parent portal in Illuminate, please take a moment to create an account so that you have access to this important tool. To do so, you will need a personal access code that connects you to your children enrolled in the Berkeley Unified School District.
Notices providing access codes to parents without an active Illuminate account are being sent out by email to those on file or you can use the personal access code look up tool. The tool requires you know your student ID# and enter the student’s last name, the parent’s first name, and only the numeric portion of the home address.
For Berkeley High School parents/guardians, this BHS website can help BHS parents get started. Our preferred method to collect your student’s emergency card information is through your Illuminate parent account. You can expect a notice to post to one parent account in order to complete the online emergency card before school starts. Emails were sent to one parent of each BHS student on August 21 with the link.
For TK-8 grade families: Notices with personal access codes for K-8 families will be sent out via email to those parents/guardians with email addresses on file once school starts. This is a year of transition and we will continue to collect paper copy emergency cards for all TK-8 grade BUSD students while encouraging parent/guardians to activate their Illuminate account.
If you have technical issues while setting up the account, please send a request for help with your name, your child’s name and school of attendance to: illuminatehc@berkeley.net
Note: Kindergarten students’ registration may not yet show up in the parent portal.
