COMMUNITY FORUM regarding SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH

The Berkeley Unified School District Board of Education invites you to assist with their search for the District’s next Superintendent of Schools.
The consultants Sally Frazier, Eric Andrews, and David Verdugo of Leadership Associates will be in our district from March 6 to March 9 to facilitate several sessions with various groups within our community to receive input about our district’s strengths and challenges, and the desired qualities and characteristics of the next Superintendent. This input will be a valuable contribution to the recruitment and selection process.
The consultants will be soliciting responses to the following questions:
- What personal and professional qualities for an incoming superintendent will be a match for the Berkeley Unified School District?
- What are the strengths of the District, and what are the challenges you see for the District in the coming years?
In addition to the various individual and group sessions, the District will host a Community Forum in English on March 7 and one in Spanish on March 8. Both are open to all the public. The forum is an opportunity for the public provide input and to hear more about the search process.
Community Forum in English: Thursday, March 7 at 7:00 pm at Board Room, 1231 Addison St. (Interpretation into Spanish will be available at this forum).
Community Forum in Spanish: Friday, March 8 at 7:00 pm at Rosa Parks Elementary School, 920 Allston Way.

Además de las diversas sesiones, el distrito ofrecerá un foro en español el viernes, 8 de marzo, en la escuela Rosa Parks, 920 Allston Way, a las 7 de la tarde. No se necesita cita para participar. Este Foro Comunitario está abierto a todo el público y es una oportunidad para expresar su opinión y aprender más sobre el proceso de búsqueda. Se ofrecerá cuidado para niños.
Además, se ofrecerá otro foro en inglés, con interpretación en español, el jueves, 7 de marzo, a las 7:00 de la tarde en 1231 Addison Street (BUSD Board Room).
