Join Superintendent Brent Stephens, School Board Members, BUSD Executive Cabinet members and other key district staff for a Town Hall conversation in partnership with Parents of Children of African Descent (PCAD), and BUSD’s Office of Family Engagement and Equity (OFEE) and African American Success Project (AASP).
Learn more about the impact of the current school closures and the impending budget crisis on our district, with a focus on Black student outcomes. As the district plans for the next school year, with the expectation that the COVID-19 pandemic will continue to affect school plans, participants are invited to share perspectives of Black students and their families on budget decisions, the plans for distance learning and use of school facilities.
Participants can use the crowdsourcing app ThoughtExchange to share their ideas and questions while also rating the relative importance of other participant’s ideas. This allows ideas and concerns of the most importance to the community to surface and be discussed in real time. Information shared at the Town Hall and captured in ThoughtExchange will Inform District planning by capturing and documenting input and perspectives of Black students and their families.
