
Berkeley Unified School District, in partnership with the Alameda County Reparations Commission, invites you to an upcoming community listening session. This vital conversation is centered on the lived experiences of current and former BUSD students, staff, and families who are descendants of enslaved Americans.
Why Attend?
Your voice is essential in shaping the future of our district and county. Insights gathered from this session will serve two primary purposes:

Inform BUSD’s Historical Study: Help guide the “Historical Study of District Practices and Student Impact,” a key recommendation from the District’s Reparations Task Force.

Support County Recommendations: Contribute directly to the Alameda County Reparations Commission’s ongoing work and upcoming policy recommendations.

This event is open to the public, and free food and beverages will be provided. Community members who identify as descendants of enslaved Americans are especially encouraged to attend and share their perspectives.
