NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a vacancy occurred on the Berkeley Unified School District’s Board of Education on July 1, 2026, as a result of the resignation of Director Ana Vasudeo. The resignation was filed on June 30, 2026, and became effective on June 30, 2026.
On August 19, 2026, the Berkeley Unified School District’s Board of Education provisionally appointed Beatriz Leyva-Cutler to fill the vacancy.
Unless a petition calling for a special election, containing a sufficient number of signatures, is filed in the office of the Alameda County Superintendent of Schools within 30 days of the date of the provisional appointment, the provisional appointment shall become an effective appointment.
This notice is provided pursuant to California Education Code section 5092.
