A public community-based event to demonstrate that a cohesive and resilient community is the best beginning to prepare for and respond to a disaster.
East Bay Community Emergency Prep Fair on Saturday, October 12, 10am-3pm at James Kenney Park (1720 8th St.) in Berkeley.
This will be a family-friendly event, with a focus on seniors and people with disabilities.
Giveaways! Raffles! Games! Food!
Program: A grass-roots effort planned and executed by a coalition of community groups and individuals, featuring demonstrations of disaster response techniques, and information on how best to prepare for various scenarios. The event will focus not on fear but on the positive power of community.

Fire extinguisher service: BEST Equipment Co. will be there! $14.95 to service each fire extinguisher (not including hydro-test, which is required every 12 years); $51.00 each 5# Buckeye fire extinguisher (rated 3A40BC); $38.00 each 2-1/2# Buckeye fire extinguisher (rated 1A10BC). Price includes 9.25% sales tax. They accept Visa, M/C, American Express, checks and cash for payment.
Animal care service: We will have coupons for free microchipping available.
