Our curriculum and instruction is aligned with the California State Preschool Foundations. The standards ensure that our students are prepared for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten. It focuses on addressing the needs of the whole child and building on the students’ individual strengths and contribution in the classroom.
There is great emphasis on a thematic unit and play-based approach to learning. A typical day consists of individual, small group and whole group instruction that involves a variety of learning models. For example, students learn number sense by reciting chants, counting students who came to school, setting the table for snack – activities that are directly connected to the child’s own experiences.
