Sylvia Mendez Elementary: Campus Wide Modernization

The modernization at SMES will improve both the interior and exterior of the school site.  It will touch every facility on the campus and will add additional classroom spaces.  The goal of this project is to transform the campus, provide additional capacity for students and staff, as well as structurally upgrade the original school building.

Community Engagement

BUSD makes a serious effort to engage the community our campuses serve, so they can be aware of upcoming projects and have a voice in the process.  There are many opportunities Berkely residents can learn about the SMES Modernization Project.
